Is it really Winter 2024?
It is already mid-February!
Are you still waiting for winter to begin or actually loving the weather we are having?
If you are in the Atlantic provinces, I bet winter can be over any time soon!
It's a record breaking year in the Ottawa area!
A little bit of weather trivia...
Did you know Ottawa and area so far have set a record?
It is the first time in history, the temperature has not dipped to -20 or below!
Just craziness!
I reached out to our MOB VIP, Maureen, in Stittsville, who mentioned the ground had a light dusting from the last snowfall, where normally at this time of year, it would be halfway up the fence.

A message from the MOB BOSS...
I would like to take a moment and send best wishes to everyone this new year 2024.
Late 2023, a couple of our longtime MOB VIPS passed away. I must take a moment and mention both of them.
Ann Elizabeth Carson, a summer resident of Manitoulin Island for many years, was a woman full of spunk.
She was a well-known writer, poet, artist, and women's activist.
Each year, I looked forward to her visits. I stayed in touch with her through the off-season months. I am missing those conversations this early 2024 year.
In 2022, Jenn interviewed her for our Women's Day Newsletter.
Have a read, an amazing woman.
Then, not long after, Mr. Gary Trimmer, of Little Current left us as well. What a gentleman he was.
He popped in every few months to choose something for family members or for himself. He loved the colour green.
Always up for a conversation...about cars or local history. Or antics he used to get up to. I will miss his kind smile and twinkling eyes.
I am so fortunate to have known you both, may you RIP.
