It is always enjoyable to take a few moments to look back on the previous year before delving into the new one ahead!
We welcomed a NEW Member to our team!
We would like to introduce the newest member to the MOB team, Rebecca Strain.
Rebecca started with us in early October and it didn't take her long to get comfortable with the sewing machine.
Many of you may know Rebecca from Manitoulin Special Olympics!
She is part of the Mixed Curling Team and they are GOOD!
Her team is now back training for provincials which will be coming up this winter.
All of us @ MOB will be cheering them on!
Successful year with Split Rail Brewing Co. & Crow Leather
We had a successful year collaborating with our locals, Split Rail Brewing Co. and Crow Leather.

We look forward to another successful year with additional items in the works.
If you are in town on February 18th Weekend, drop by Split Rail Brewing Co. for their Annual WINTER WARM UP Event. It's an all day event with Local Vendors, Music, Food and of course BREW!
"Thankful Tree" Campaign a Success in 2022!
Our Christmas Thankful Tree Campaign was another successful fundraising initiative for our local Manitoulin Family Resources.
With the help of our customers decorating our tree with what they were thankful for this past 2022 we were able to donate $330.00!
This initiative came about in 2020 when Manitoulin Family Resources had to close their Thrift Store due to COVID.
We had been purchasing the denim that they were unable to sell to their customers since 2006. This created an ongoing method of "cash flow" for them as we regularly bought by the bag. When COVID happened those resources dried up as their store had to close.
The space then was converted to more space for the Food Bank which saw a growing need due to COVID.

The campaign was our way of replacing those regular dollars for them and I think it's a campaign that is here to stay!
Teaming up with the new Lure of the North Outfitters
We have had a very busy start to 2023!

On Monday January 2nd, we met with Jeff, Laura & Sawyer from Lure of the North Outfitters (Sudbury) to talk business and introduce ourselves.
Sawyer arrived decked out in one of our Child 1/4 Zip Hooded Pullovers, so we knew it would be a successful meet and greet!
Jeff and Laura took over the Lure of the North Retail side of the business in November, so that Kie and Dave could pursue and grow their Eco Adventure Tours for which Lure of the North (Espanola) is founded on.
We were asked if we would like to continue manufacturing their label for them under the new retail end of this busy enterprising business and of course, we said yes!
It's been a busy January in production, but all their pre-booked orders are filled and we are ready for the next current round!
We wish both businesses much success this 2023 and we look forward to establishing a new working relationship with Jeff and Laura!
New Collection for 2023!
Canadiana Patchwork is back - new look, new feel!
Over the past many years, we have continued to get asked about this collection.
Back in the day, we did it 1st in a Faux Melton then when that was no longer available we did it in a beautiful Kodiak Faux Suede - then when that was no longer available, we put the collection to rest.
We are bringing it back in a beautiful Heather Sherpa Fleece.
Four designs - 4 style choices
We are just waiting on a few things to arrive to start production, but with the samples provided to our wholesale/retailer rep, Mike Deane, the orders are coming in from our retailers.
Familiar places like French River Trading Post and Town Trading Post in Parry Sound are just a couple of our customers with orders booked for this new collection.
We expect production to begin early March...then we will show you better views of this comfortable collection.
A New Style in our Buffalo Check Plaid

Once again for this year, 2023, we have large orders already pre-booked with our retailers for spring delivery. A couple weeks ago, we introduced them to our newest addition to our Buffalo Check collection...the Ladies Hooded Zip Tunic.
Practical lower thigh length and 2-way zipper. The hood zips to just under the chin and helps to keep the wind off your face on a blustery day.
These jackets are gearing up for production this week and will be available in all sizes when the last of the zippers arrive.

Annual Spring Cleaning Sale on the Horizon!!
When I see garden seeds on sale at our local grocers, I know it's time for our Annual Spring Cleaning Sale!
It begins February 1st!
Over the course of the month new items will be added in store and online.
We have ends of rolls to use up and garments to finish! Plus, perfect time of year to pick up samples.

I would like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy New Year 2023!
The past year, 2022, brought many returning customers back to Manitoulin Island during the summer months. It was so nice to see all of you again! You were missed thru the pandemic.
We met many new customers this year as well, who were discovering Manitoulin Island for the 1st time. We know we will see you again!
Let's hope 2023 brings health & happiness for all.
I took the 1st few weeks of 2023 to review and reflect on my "social media"(all online platforms, including email marketing and online store) presence and aptitude.
I will continue to learn the ropes and hope to stay in touch this new year more regularly with updates on events, products and just interesting info happening around and within My Ol' Blues.
