Women to Women Succession
These past few months of 2026 have not gone quite as planned.
First of all, I somehow wrenched my neck and have been having a hard time dealing with the fact I am older and only time will heal it. Please be patient with me...
Secondly, on another personal note, my mom who is probably one of my biggest supporters thru this journey of My Ol' Blues and my life, has been dealing with mobility issues. She is 86 years old now.
Over these last couple weeks leading up to International Women's Day I have been reflecting on my relationship with my mom along with my sisters.
"As a young woman, we strike out to test our independence, as an older woman, we strike out to hold on to our independence."
The theme #givetogain is quite appropriate today in my life. I was taught by a very wise woman, to be a leader, have compassion for others, lend a helping hand when needed - no questions asked, be an educator so others have an equal opportunity, and give thanks to those around me within family, friends, business, and community.
I dedicate this International Woman's Day to my mom, Lois Roque, a woman who has given selflessly of herself all her life for the betterment of others.
It is time to let your daughters "give to you". We appreciate the trust and wisdom you have bestowed on us!
Looking forward to many more years to come.
Love you mom, xoxo
